I had been a runner most of my life. I was involved in track and/or cross country from middle school through college, and then began running local races. I didn’t think weightlifting or varied activity would add any value to my fitness; however, when my mom broke her back, despite being fit, I began thinking about the importance of bone density as we age.

I  started lifting in my garage in 2015, but it became monotonous. In my search to bring weightlifting and running together, I found CrossFit. When I walked into a gym for the first time in 2016, I was hooked.  I fell in love with the community, the variety, and the thrill of competing with myself to be better than the day before.

Taking the L1 CrossFit course in 2017 solidified for me just how important CrossFit is to overall health. It's our insurance policy against illness and the unknowns that come our way.  My goal in coaching others is to help them achieve more than they thought possible and to find joy in working out so that they keep coming back.
