What CrossFit is at Cream City

September 9, 2026 — Cream City CrossFit

Say “CrossFit” and most people picture something beyond their reach, something they’re not able to do. Here’s what CrossFit actually means inside our gym in Bay View, hour by hour.

What a class actually looks like

A coached hour: a warm-up, a skill or strength piece where you learn and practice a movement properly, then the workout of the day. The coach introduces the workout, walks you through movement demos, and provides scaling options to meet you where you’re at, coaching for safety and mechanics the whole way through.

Who it’s for

Our classes are for all fitness levels, all bodies. CrossFit can be done by anyone, because we give you a version of the movement you can do and meet you at your fitness level. A first-timer and a ten-year athlete do the same workout at different weights and paces, side by side. The whole point of coaching is not that you arrive ready and in shape, it’s that we help you get there in a way that works for you. As one Google review put it: “the workouts are challenging, yet scalable to all levels.”

The myth worth killing

The myth is that you need to get in shape before you start CrossFit. It survives because CrossFit looks intense from the outside. Inside, a reviewer called this “maybe the least intimidating gym ever.” The coaches are described in review after review as approachable and friendly, and the whole point of coaching is not that you arrive ready, it’s that we help you get there.

Where it connects

CrossFit classes are the center. But in order to get a true transformation, or get into the best shape, you need to take nutrition into consideration as well. Most people start with a free No Sweat Intro and go from there.
